    South Granville HS

There was a bomb threat at the school and they showed an overhead view of the school on the news. Our outfield is the football field if you can believe that. The school was built in 1965 and originally built to hold 600 students and was a small 2-a school. We now are 3-a and have a little over 1400 students enrolled this school year. We are limited in space and funds in our county which runs from Wake County to the Va line. There are only two HS in our county us and Oxford Webb which is also 3-a. We do a very good job with what we have but it takes a tremendous amount of work the year round. As soon as football season ends we turn the football field back into a baseball outfield. Ive been told that back in the 60's several schools had "dual purpose fields". It is my understanding that there are only a couple left in the state which includes ours. If anyone knows of anymore please let me know. We have tried numerous times over the years to get the county to build a football field or a new baseball facility but to no avail so far.
