The JUCO route has been a good one for my son. The biggest reason he chose that route was because he could not make up his mind about a major. He is going to have a 2 year associates transfer degree without having a major. Now he has the chance to decide with 2 more years of maturity. Even though he has not made up his mind 100% about the next step he has narrowed it to two choices. As of last night it seems like he has made up his mind. I think he will commit next week. I believe April 9 is signing day.

Even though he has had two coaches in two years the baseball situation for my son has been a good one. He started alot last year and has started all but two games this year. That most likely would not have happened at a four year school. He would have had to wait behind guys who had been waiting themselves to get in the game.

If you are promised playing time at a four year school it would be nice to go there. But if you are not and you don't want to wait or take a red-shirt you might be better off going to a JUCO that needs your skills.

The competition at the JUCO level is very good also. In Region X any team can beat another so you better come to play. There are two new teams this year in Sumter and Guilford Tech and even they have some very good talent in their first season.

Most of the facilities are nice and seem to be on the ups as far as improvements to come. I would say that Young Harris in Ga has the best facility we have played at.

If you think this might be something you or your son would be interested in just go to a few games and talk to the players after the games and ask them about their program. I would recommend Blue Ridge Comm. Coll. to anyone.
