The last I heard/read, he was on the Reds and had a stellar spring training, especially at the plate. He was waiting to see how Ken Griffey, Jr.'s injury was healing....as the Reds are moving Griff to right field this season. The way I interpreted what I read, if Griffey was hurt, Hamilton will start the season in rightfield. If Griffey is ready to play, Hamilton will be on the bench.

IMO, in either scenario, Hamilton has done a fantastic job shaking his demons and getting his life/career back on track.

Exactly right D3...Josh made the active roster, which is a terrific feat in itself.

He will be the 4th outfielder and also be used as a pinch hitter.

No disrespect to MLBscout because he is very good at what he does, but you wonder, as bad as their organization has been, how Josh couldn't make their club; especially after they stuck with him during the hard times.

He didn't need to make their club, just be protected on the 40 man roster.
TB is bad except for flychasers. They have:
    Jonny Gomes
    Rocco Baldelli
    Delmon Young
    Elijah Dukes
    Carl Crawford
That's probably the best young group of outfielders in the MLB.
Josh got a very emotional standing O in Cincy when he pinchhit in the first game. The only bad thing about being with the Reds is that all 4 outfielders are lefthanded, so there's not a platoon possiblity. On the other hand, Griffey is an injury magnet these days.

Actually he does have to make the team. If he didn't make the team, the Reds would have to give him back to Tampa Bay.

I think Braves was talking about Josh making TB's team.

Between Griffey being injury prone and Ryan Freel running into walls and sacrificing his body, Josh should get some starts this year.
