    LP: Mailman---Dirtbags has several pitchers who threw in the 90's.
    MegaStar HiLights- Evan Taylor 1B, HR, 4 RBIs; Keith Mauney HR, 2 BBs, 2 RBIs, 2 Runs Scored

    WP: Sherrill in Relief of Gurley
    LP: Jordan Cudney- 9 inning CG
    HiLights (Lolights)- neither team scored an earned run. The 3rd batter for the Red Sox had 2 doubles. Scott Shields had a RBI single for the MegaStars and looked like Andrew Jones in Center. There were about 5 HBPs and 6 errors in the game. All the errors proved costly. It's amazing only 5 runs scored. The REDSOX pitchers cooled off some pretty hotbats!! Gurley was 85-88 mph, Cudney was 83-87, and Sherrill was 77-82, but had great location and good command of his pitches.

    McNair did a great job keeping the little Cubs off balance after surrendering a 1st inning hr. We just couldn't get the bats going against him after that. Was Wallace playing in the field in the Cubs game, and do you know who pitched for the Dirtbags?

    16 Cubs vs Megastars on Saturday

    The difference in the game was defense. The Cubs made some routine plays look rather difficult. The Megastars just made the routine plays and played solid defense. The Cubs threw three or four kids as usual. The Megastars kid went the distance (9) innings. I have no idea what his pitch count was. He did have some innings where he only threw 7 or 8 pitches. This is the first time I have seen the Megastars and they are a solid group of players. They were a class group of young men. No hot dog stuff no extra BS that you see from some teams. They just play the game. I did see where they pounded the Dirtbags 17u AA team. I did see Justin Jackson from TC Roberson was playing with them this weekend. I talked to his father Chuck who I have known since 12u AAU days. For those of you that have not seen this kid play he is the real deal. Good luck to the Megastars this year. We have the other Megastar team today at 4pm at NC State.
