HS Sports vs. $$$$$$$

    I know this may tick some folks off yet there was a time when football games were played in the afternoons and on Saturdays (during the day) as well as BAseball as it still does in many states (during the day). Concerning the state of education and the budget in CMS does anyone see that 100k's if not millions could be saved annually AT LEAST for the short term by "turning the lights OFFFFFFFF including Soccer and play during the freakin day!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? JMHO :scared2: :thinking: :huh: :scared2: :thinking: :huh:

    I looooove Saturday games...any sport. AD's won't do it though. They want Saturday's off.

    Don t get me wrong I enjoy playin under the lights as much as anyone! It just makes common sense however! Number one electricity costs hmmm love to see that CMS bill! Also, you are right the AD's of "today" don t really care about the individual "players" and often times the programs period! Look at Hamilton's decision???? Boy of BOY! Realllyyyyyyy monitored the weather NOT! I know for a fact and being in the so called "MIX" this decision as often the case was about $$$$$$$$$$$. Sure we don t wanna get our fans wet, they won't come! Secondly, HS (serious) students and athletes are EXHAUSTED come Friday afternoon! Now lets just get them even MORE exhausted by playing on MONDAY night....point is they don t care about the kids! The fundamental premise of HS athletics is them NOT anything or anyone else... Sure I enjoy my weekends off as well BUT loving the game i e baseball football etc takes precedent in that there IS NOTHING I would rather be doing on a SAT or SUN than playin "ball"... It is a shame but politics continue to be the order of the day!!! Thridly look at the potential for unruliness or crime NOT as likely in the DAY vs. the night! I could go on oh well JMHO

    I agree, Coach. You have much more experience in this subject. I wonder if the problems associated in the Charlotte area are the same in others.

    hmmm...

    they are and they are not! Big systems big gates alot of politics and $$$$. Little systems, country systems not so MUCH because even to the Superintendent himself the ENTIRE I repeat ENTIRRE community rallies around "their" HS athletics and they do do what is best for the kids as well as the game!
