Help support the "Battle Against Breast Cancer"

    South Georgia Softball presents the "Battle Against Breast Cancer" Tournament on October 31-November 1, 2009 in Savannah, GA.

    A donation from this event will be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation on behalf of all the teams that participate. If you would like to take part in this worthwhile event, then please go to the South Georgia Softball web site page and sign up.

    2 pool games to a double elimination format. No teams will be eliminated on Saturday. Trick or Treat bags for all teams 12u and below. $275 entry fee per team. $125 for 8u age group.

    A set of pink tournament shirts with CHAMPIONS on the back will be given to the winners in each age division.

    Help South Georgia Softball support the battle against breast cancer.

    Thank you for supporting such a worthy cause.

    I think it would be a good idea to give an estimate of how much would be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. For example, if it's going to be say $25 per team or whatever it might persuade a team to sign up if they knew.

    At any rate it would be nice to know in some future post how much was actually donated.

    Again, thanks for supporting such a very important cause!

    Good point

    I thought about a certain amount per team, but then I did not want to cap it, so what I really had planned was afterwards to send a note to each team and post what is actually donated. My initial plan is $75 per team at a minimum, plus a portion of the tournament shirts, which will be pink.

    We actually have one of our players mothers who is a breast cancer survivor, so this really hits home with my Angels.

    That sounds great!! I wish you every success! I think that will give the players and coaches a good feeling to be a part of such a worthy cause.
