Probably not the greatest games, but any game involving Providence vs South Meck is always intense.

I recall one year at SM with Chris Jones pitching, there was absolutely no room to move. The Providence players were escorted between a row of SM heckling students. The raw emotions, intensity and bitterness was felt through the whole park. Every pitch mattered and each inning played fueled more emotions. SM won 2-1...might have been the best HS game I ever saw.

I'd love to go watch an Alexander Central vs Wautaga game. That would be a thrill.

Probably the best high school game I was apart of was my freshman year up at Hickory Crawdads' Stadium in the State semifinals against Providence Day. This was back when P.D. was one of the better teams in the city. They surprised us and took the lead by 3 or 4. We put Babyak in the game to stop the bleeding. He shut them down, while in the process hitting their best hitter in the back. We came back in the 6th and tied the game after Babyak got thrown at, got back up, and laced a single into left that scored the tying run. In the bottom of the 7th, Andrew Nelson, our huge DH who really hadn't hit well all year long, hit an absolute bomb about 400 feet to the warning track in center, just out of the reach of the diving centerfielder. Our guy scores from first and we win 7-6. Greatest game I can say I ever had the pleasure to be apart of. Next day we won the State Championship.
