Getting to know Landon Lassiter-SS North Davidson HS

Landy is the younger brother of the New York Yankees Garrison Lassiter and he has loved the game of baseball since his memories of playing t-ball at age 5. Most of what he enjoys is the friendships that he makes from the teams he has played on including the Triad Thunder which he played for when he was 7 yrs old. His favorite major league baseball player is Chipper Jones, his favorite uniform number is #12 and he listens to mostly R&B songs. The night before big games he trys to chill out and get plenty of rest.

He credits his dad Cliff with teaching him the game and feels lucky to have had an older brother Garrison that also loves the game. His mom Eva and his brother Adam complete the Lassiter family.

In 2009 he joined the Canes because of his respect for Jeff Petty and Bobby Ramsey and has loved every minute of showcase ball. His most memorable game was winning the 2009 WWBA National Championship, "winning the WWBA was the greatest feeling, what made it special was winning it with my friends and the best coaches. It was the best experience a young player could have" said Landon.

He is only a sophmore but he already has drawn attention from many D1 schools in the country and his goal is to be a pro baseball player as well as a college or pro scout someday.

Adam Guthridge of The Hardball Times in his scouting report for the WWBA wrote that this young player was a steady SS with a good body and potential plus bat. Keep your eye on this 2012 kid.
As a freshman back in May Landon hit a late inning Grand Slam and finished the game with 7 rbi's to propel North Davidson into the best of 3 semi-final series in the high school state playoffs.
