    I heard this on the radio today and wondered if it was a relative. I am so sorry to hear about this and pray for his family as well as your safety driving down. Have you heard an update on his condition?

    At "home"

    in NC's baseball city (?) tis eve my brother is an absolute miracle to say the least I will go into details a lil later but all signs report to a complete recovery the MAN as the paper said is a "superman" Thank you for ur prayers and support. HEaded back to the free state tomorrow night after one last visit in the ICU to see him... I am taken aback, speechless, and aghast at the utter courage Ive witnessed the past two days from my lil brother! It is was a sight to behold as he continues to gasp for air as I type!

    I know the area well, my prayers are for your family and especially your brother... With a number of buddies of mine in law enforcement, most people dont understand what they really do for us!! And I do know that I-95 is one of the most dangerous stretches of road in the nation!! God will get y'all through it!!

    I hope you won't mind me posting this, Coach:

    "I am Chris' only brother, the oldest in the family and have just returned to Maryland where I teach HS! I wanted to drop a line here after discovering it to THANK everyone for their thoughts and prayers. To say the least it has been a long time since I have shed a tear for any reason up until Tuesday morning when I first saw him! My brother is very strong both mentally and physically and this as well as God is what has pulled him thru! Do know this as the news has misreported...my brother took five bullets from a 45 and all were in fact life threatening with three of those entering the side of his chest while one entered his abdomen and the other his thigh. As of right now he will be removed from ICU tomorrow with the two chest tubes soon to be removed. He is a pure medical miracle and I am proud to have him as my lil brother (the youngest of four of us). He has not shed a tear nor complained one bit while at the hospital and HE is making an remarkable recovery under these life threatening circumstances... "best popsicle I ever had" is the only words he has spoken to me on Wednesday! Again I am deeply thankful to all of you for your support and words of encouragement.. I may be reached at [email protected]"

    It's hard to imagine exactly what you have been going through. I don't know how I would react to a senseless shooting of my brother. But know that I am here for you and will do anything I can to help....just let me know. I'm closer to Raleigh than you are.

    and your kind words are deeply appreciated. As I said yesterday he has left the hospital on his own two feet with remnants of two holes in which his lung collapsed and one still slightly draining.. It is an awful sight as well as his other injuries! Miracles do happen and now i certainly will never doubt it. The overflow of greetings and get welll cards and gifts for him has been nationwide. All I can say is he WILL be back to work on the roads before no time and you definitely don t want to be running over the speed limit on I95 as you past thru Fayetteville sometime after January! He set a state record I believe last year by issuing over 6000 citations in one calendar year. He is highly respected and regarded by his own Barracks in Hope Mills and now his reputation for being such a fine representative of the state and Highway Patrol has reached the state level as acknowledged by Raleigh and the staff at the staff HQ. I ll keep ya posted...
