I think Sean McNally is going to be sensational. As a former player on a winning Duke team, he knows what it takes to have a successful program at Duke. He has 9 years of experience at the pro level, has coached a HS program and is a Dookie...he understands what kind of player to recruit to make Duke competitive.

...and if Coach K retires, Sean has coached basketball as well :D

Seriously, I think he is absolutely thr right man to get that program going.

BTW- Brett Bartles, AL Brown hit his 1st career HR and did it with style....a Grand Slam :woohoo:

While I don't know Coach McNally, Braves' recommendation goes a long way with me to suggest that he can get the job done (although, you know I hate to admit that, Braves!).

If he can, that'll be a good thing for the ACC. While its first 6 or 7 teams are as competitive as any in the country, it'll never be the baseball conference it aspires to be until programs like Duke's improve.

Looking at programs such as those at Stanford, Vanderbilt, and Rice, one would think that Duke has an opportunity to raise its baseball fortunes. Here's wishing Coach McNally all the best in doing so!

Well, one must admit that during the recruiting process, while most schools were sending out brochures and nice letters from the coach...Duke was sending out 5 by 8 recipe cards inviting them to check 'em out.

McNally is young...and aggressive. I believe he and his staff will become a fixture at most of the highly touted showcase tournaments. They certainly have some selling points.

Now Prep...most people are afraid to have any kind of endorsement from me. It's kind of a kiss of death, but I don't believe that will be the case at Dukeyville. Also, I agree 100% that Duke getting stronger only makes the conference better. Now if we can only get those Tar Heels some players, maybe we can get them ranked

There is a player from Charlotte that I believe will commit to them...David Mailman, Providence HS. I believe he is exactly the type player they need and he will be able to compete at the ACC level.

If they can attract some stud pitchers (ala Rice), they can be well on their way

If they can get the MAILMAN, that is a steal.... IMHO he's one of the best 07's in the state... and a heckuva kid too!!
