NC Mens 3A FINAL: WEST ROWAN 72 GOLDSBORO 57

61-0! The Falcons surprised the nay-sayers this season! A total team effort turned in by the Falcon starters tonight.....Hairston - MVP (love those "Get Out of My House! blocks), Gaither - Team MVP (he destroyed the Goldsboro press), Phillip Williams (the Rock, two dunks, 17 points, 9 rebounds, held Goldsboro's big guy to 4 points), Jason Williams (finished out a great postseason, great D, an important 1st half ending flurry), Darrin Ramsey (Stepped up BIG!!!! 12 points, 4 steals, took it the rack!!)

The game was much like the TCR game, Goldsboro played tough and smart in the first half and was kept in the game by their outstanding 3-pointer shooter Brian Lane. The second half Lane was held in check until the game was out of reach. Goldsboro, not unlike TCR and many other teams, simply got wore down.

I've heard so many say "West wins because of size". True, but if anyone bothered to check the rosters of Goldsboro and Kings Mountain they could see that those squads matched the Falcons in height. Truth is, "West wins because of size, superior athletes, quickness, coaching and a 'refuse to lose' attitude"

CONGRATS TO ALL THE PLAYERS AND COACHING STAFF!!!!!! ENJOY THE MOMENT!!!! YOUR HARD WORK PAID OFF!!!!!
