    From Braves 09 post:
"For those that posted in this thread. It doesn't matter if the name you posted about is your son, grandson, nephew or any other relation. If the kid can play and he hasn't been given deserved notice, please do not fear posting his name and accomplishments and why you feel he could play at the next level.

I thought we had gotten way past the stage of caring who posts one's name. If the player is deserving, by all means post it. But remember....post your opinion why he will be succesful in college.

The irony of gamedays' post is that 98% of the members that post rarely ever mention their son's success. They have left it for others to do. And the sad thing is, the parent of a player in Southern Neck (whose son is not known) will not mention his son's name in fear someone will belittle him or his son's accomplishments. For a sport that gets little or no local coverage of their HS baseball team, it only makes sense to use TBR as an outlet to help get that name out there.

C'mon guys...we're better than that. Let's don't criticize our members"

Ok here is your chance. Come out and support your son. We have always been proud of them. We have worked to put them in success way. Do we fear that those here will take our comments and hold it against our son's. If that is the case >>>>>> your choice.

    I'll comment.

I'm not talking any specifics about my son for several reasons. 1st, I put my name on every post anyway. 2nd, we have seen this create some hard feelings in our community and none of us want that. We have a talented group and most of the boys are very close friends. That's the focus. 3rd, I have to get a better understanding about my son's abilities. I have factual stats on how he has performed on teams where several teammates are Impact players. But I need to see how he does in Showcase and varsity baseball. 4th, if my son does have what everyone here calls "tools", I would rather others recognize him instead of me.

Most of you know my son is at Ragsdale, is an '010 kid, plays football as well, and plays catcher, pitcher, 3rd, 1st in baseball. That's about all I'll say. We think we have some potential at Ragsdale as a team and that is the focus. The team. I feel if the team does very well, the kids will get the attention they deserve.

Don't mean to be a downer on your thread. You wonder why there are no takers? That's my reason.

PS. I need a spell check.

Thanks and Agree. It is a shame that we cannot get past the politics of the game. That is why I attached Braves comments. It makes sense.

I don't see where there is any politics involved.

Good luck to Trey. Sounds like he is doing well.

    OK my turn

Does not stay back consistently on off speed pitches. Needs to get faster. Gets on my nerves at practice always asking what are we going to do next. Wont go home after practice , makes me throw extra bp all the time which causes another four or five guys to get extra bp as well all at the expense of my tired old arm. Shoots jump shots into the ball bucket instead of putting them in the bucket the first time. Brings Pratt home to eat supper after practice almost every night. "If you have ever seen him eat you would know what I mean". Never satisfied with anything he does. Drinks the coaches gatorades from the fridge at practice "I thought that was mine". Comes up later "Heres some water". Makes coach Ferrell put of a practice schedule. Because if he doesnt he drives him crazy asking "What are we going to do today. Then what are we going to do?"

    You are blessed!

Coach 27, What a great post. You are a funny man. You are also truly blessed for at your Wake there will be several grown men (whom you coached) there at your side crying at the loss of "their" coach. I am 48 years old and still call my old coaches "coach." Nothing else would be right.

What a terrific post. I needed it today!

As for my son....................it's not time to talk about his abilities yet.

But there are already dozens of ways he gets my goat. I get even with him when I wake him up for school every morning. This morning I used the knob of an old K55 that was leaning against the wall in his room to (literally) "cattle prod" him into getting up. Now that's a joy and a memory for a lifetime!
