Getting to Omaha is about total dedication, and it's more about executing the little things consistently than anything else. For this reason, I think it has less to do with the fact that the program has been to Omaha than the fact that the coaches and players are genuinely committed to getting there and willing to apply themselves day-in and day-out to accomplishing their collective goal.

Almost every year, there's a team or two among the 8 who are there for the first time in a long time, if not the first time ever. If that's the case, you can be assured that everyone associated with the program has been consistently doing the many things it takes to put them in a position to get there.

Everyone associated with the program has to believe that they can get there. Then, they have to live the steps to the dream before they can live the dream.

The programs that carry that orientation...and demonstrate that they can consistently "walk the walk"...have a leg up in recruiting players who have the talent and dedication to get there.
