Cuts are Coming Your Way - Rant

For the record, I have NO issue at all with school uniforms. lol

I just brought that up, as they are looking at going state wide with that, as well as, all the athletic cutbacks (Pitt always seems to go ahead of the curve when the state begins to consider). Just bringing it up to say, it (athletic changes mentioned) may not affect you now, but it IS coming.

I went to the Doallar Store this weekend and bought one of them magic decoder rings... works wonders on here....

 

WSFC school system is ahead of the state. Funding middle school programs. That's a joke. If you set them up yourself and fund them. In the 70's and 80's forsyth had some great programs back then. Football, baseball, track, basketball, wrestling ect. Same as the high schools. Today basketball, volleyball and soccer. Baseball is a couple of school blended together and played though LL. School system bearly funds HS. Enjoy it while you can. Let's dump a bunch of money into this school being an art based school. They need to get back to offering the same at each school. Forget this crap of this school has this and this one that. English, science, math, social studies, PE and some electives. Balance the student numbers in schools. Bring back PE programs every year manditory. Forget the bull crap courses. With NC grad rate around 78% or so. Who cares if little johnny or susie can draw.

Just starting

North Davidson will be hosting an Easter Baseball Tournament this year. Single elim, 3 game guar. Finals on easter monday. 6-8 teams depending on how much interest I get. Won't cost you a thing, may even have dinners provided thru our sponsor. Just getting the ball rolling, want to see what the interest level is. Mount Vernon High School in New York has just been told by the school board that unless parents raise 950,000 dollars ALL sports will be eliminated this year. Denzel Washington has donated 100k, NBA and former Mt Vernon star Ben Gordon is spearheading a big fundraiser for the school sports program. Tragic days ahead for our kids.
