Eastern Wake County Conference for JHR

If memory serves me correctly, one proposal had JH Rose joining the Greater Neuse River Conference. These 8 schools NOW include:
Smithfield-Selma
West Johnston
Harnett Central
Clayton
Garner
Southeast Raleigh
Knightdale
East Wake

Holly Springs was dropped in favor of Harnett Central.

The preliminary proposal was that the Conference include 9 members:
Rose
Smithfield-Selma
West Johnston
Harnett Central
Clayton
Garner
Southeast Raleigh
Knightdale
East Wake

You can make reach your own conclusions as to the pros/cons of the final decision.

 

Ragsdale went to a dress code/uniform this year and it was not soon enough. More than 1/2 Guilford County is on it now.

As you plan your school wardrobe, please review the WCPSS Inappropriate Dress Policy (6410.1) and plan accordingly. Dress code violations will result in disciplinary consequences beginning August 25, 2008. Students who are dressed inappropriately will not be allowed to attend classes until the problem has been corrected.(Hope the principal sticks to her words on this one).

 

HC & Rose

Harnett Central barely got in to 4A based on the #'s. They will be one of the smallest 4A schools. Pretty long haul from Greenville to Angier, but it's probably a shorter distance than Greenville to Wilmington. Tough decisions.

School Uniforms

Yes. Eliminates guess work from an ambiguous dress code. For example, at JHR, Kelly Green, White or Columbia Blue. That is your shirt option. Must be three button (i.e. polo style) shirt. Tucked in. Pants are khaki or black. With Belt. On hips. No logos (i.e. alligators, ponies or such on left chest).

It is very cut and dry, so no questions any more as to what you can or can't wear. It is not open to interpretation. LOL

There is room for administrators to bend - i.e. game day jersey, but teams have moved to team polo with school logo/sport on left chest.

(Not that this has anything to do with budgets or such...lol)

I have a suspicion that we will be hearing a lot about budget shortfalls within school systems right after the first of the year.

surely the pitt county admins will allow for Purple and Gold as alternate colors? How about on Football Fridays??

 

The only colors allowed are the school colors as approved by the school board.

Uniforms

Ok guess I used some school system deduction on the fuel issue. As for uniforms. Let's look at the results. Less gang activity, pants & shirts that fit and cost saving for parents. We must look have others have done with uniforms in schools. Japan, China and Russia have them. They also place your kid in the sport and degree field they feel would benifit the state and not the parents. It is a great system. We have been on this pathway for awhile. Remember those test to see if you are on your career path. Magnet schools. Honors, AP and College prep programs. We are going to have some well educated ditch diggers in the future. It already takes one to digg and a least four (at last count) to tell him how.

 

Colors will be red, green and white. Soccer will replace football. They need to build stronger relationships with Mexico. They tried NASCAR but that failed.
