    update on Brian Conroy

    Fred Conger got a chance to speak to Mr. Conroy at the Latin-Country Day game yesterday. Brian has improved to where he awoke from the coma. His condition has significantly improved but is still very serious. His girlfriend, who is a CCDS softball player, suffered a very severe cut to her knee. Since we play both teams today (softball and baseball), I should be able to get an update on both players.

    I had a chance to speak to Brian's aunt today and she reports:

    The update on my nephew is that he was moved to the rehab hospital on Friday evening. He is responding to therapy. Brian have a long road ahead to get him back to the same old Brian. The doctors seem to think he will have a full recovery but we all have to be patient as he heals. This has been so scary for our family through this whole process. Brain injuries are so different for each patient and we just don't know how long it is going to take to get back to the old Brian that we knew."
