Corey Seager to USC!

2012 left-handed hitting shortstop Corey Seager recently made a verbal commitment to the Gamecocks at University of South Carolina. Seager is a 2-year veteran of the Dirtbags program.

 

Wow....Holbrook has been working NC hard. I love it.

But I must admit this one surprised me. I thought the UNC ties would be too much.

Braves, it could be the Holbrook ties were too much for UNC to overcome. Wasn't it Holbrook who recruited brother Kyle? And the national championship and phenomenal facilities didn't hurt either. But I believe most folks don't think he'll ever see a college campus. I've only seen him play once.

 

I agree NCMtn, but I can't remember a time when USC and Clemson have recruited our state so heavily. They've always gotten a few of our kids, but never as many as recently.

But it's fine with me to see the Gamecocks get some of our best. Pretty soon they may have to call themselves USC-NC Gamecocks.

 

Maybe they are tired of being "No the Other One" such as "Carolina, oh yeah, baby blue...No the other one, or "USC, oh the trojans.....No the other one!

 

How about "Carolina...Baseball National Champions"......Oh, that Carolina

Congrats to Corey, his family, Coach Hubbard and the NWC baseball family. Corey is as good a sophomore as I've seen in years - legit in every aspect of the game. Great get for SC.

 

He produces Ted Williams type line drives..

 

Corey may get drafted, but he will go to college, because he comes from a family with their priorities straight, meaning they are high on academics too.
