OK, let's get into the CWS as it unfolds. A # 4 regional seed is in, Fresno State.

I am predicting Fla. State or Miami to win it all. Or could be LSU.

LSU could win it all... or FSU, Miami... or UNC..

I don't see Rice, Stanford, UGa or Fresno taking it but who knows?

I will be pulling for the ACC Big 2 (FSU, Miami) and the underdog Fresno St. Bulldogs.

Heck, maybe UGa will sweep so it won't make NCSU look so bad.

    bats whipping

I want to see a pitcher that can slow those Ga. bats, if there is one.

Glad the Georgia Bulldogs made it :xyxthumbs: They seem to make it every other year under Perno. Gordon Beckham is a hitting machine and the lineup is pretty solid. They just have weaker pitching than the other teams. Fields is a great closer (1st round pick of the Mariners) but the starters are weaker than the other teams. I think UNC can win it. They have great pitching and solid contact hitters that will drive things crazy. LSU and Georgia are gonna have to play gorilla ball. Glad to see the Bulldogs back in the college world series though. They went in '04 when I was a freshman and in '06 but got knocked out in 2 games. Georgia's coach said this is the best team he's taken to the World Series out of the '01, '04, '06 teams though

Post 29 on the road to Omaha

We'll be there for 3 games. I'm hoping we get to see UNC play Sunday night because they dont play again if they win until Tuesday. I'll try and post a report after the games we get to see.

    FSU loses again

#4 national seed Fla. State starts out in the same style as their many years of futility at the CWS. Lose first game 16-5.
Behind 5-2 , FSU ties it in the bottom of 8th only to surrender 11 runs in the top of 9th to go down really hard.

    goodbye Florida

Another upset in game 2 and another ACC team loses.
Ga. over #1 seed Miami 7-4.

The next game for the two Florida teams is an elimination game vs each other.

A heartbreaker for the Hurricanes. Their best reliever on the mound, had the lead and were 45-0 when leading after 8 innings. Runner on 1st, pitcher got the strikeout resulting in runners on 1st and 3rd with a passed ball. The next batter tops one to the pitcher. He overthrows 1st and both runners scored. Both plays should have resulted in outs...game over. But that's baseball and why it is so fun to watch.
