    Walters State had a strong opening weekend of play at the Aiken Tech tournament in Aiken, SC finishing with a 3-2 record. Walters State won thier pool with a 3-0 record posting wins over Chatahoochie Valley CC 2-0, Gordon 8-6, and the host Aiken Tech 3-0 advancing to the gold bracket, then losing two games in the bracket 7-6 to Young Harris and 11-1 to #14 Wallace State. It was a strong weekend for the NC kids Brittney Furr (Central Cabarrus) started all 5 games at 3b going 5-16, and Gina Loflin (West Rowan) catching all 5 games going 6-17, and throwing out several runners. Walters State will play at Montreat Tuesday.
