Clearing the showcase log jam a little

At the request of a lot of college coaches and travel coaches, I have moved the Southern Star "Team" Showcase to November 21 & 22, 2009 in Savannah, GA. All games will be held at the Paulson and Minnick Softball Complex's.

As we all know, for the past 2 years, the final weekend of Oct. has been the final weekend of fall observation for NCAA D1 college coaches. But this year the NCAA opened up the month of November for NCAA coaches observation. With that said, not many good events have been scheduled past Nov. 1. That has created a huge regional and national log jam for college showcases. There are 5 very good showcases just in the South Atlantic Region the weekend of Oct. 30-Nov. 1. College coaches are going to be spread thin and requested that I think about another date to help some of them out. Therefore we are going to accomidate the many requests and move to a later MUCH less crowded date.

Of the 30 teams and numerous college coaches already committed to the previous date, all but 1 agreed with the move. So I think this will be a good change for everyone involved.

There will be no Friday night play. With the usually mild weather that time of year, we should still have plenty of time to get in the games.

Deadline to enter will be October 1, 2009.
