CAP 7 honors & next year impact

Congratualtions to all the deserving young men who made this list. Your many years of hard work is paying off but don't stop now working for more now.

Sanderson -- great recogintion for your program. Your young team made it to the NCHSSA 4A East Finals where you lost to the eventual state champions, Greenville Rose. The team swept the CAP 7 player (Mark Peterson- UNCG) coach (Todd Laughlin) & pitcher of year (Charles Wolfe- jr) honors. You had two seniors and 4 juniors on he list. I will enjoy watching these four juniors; C/P Max Gagnon, SS Kyle Wigmore, P/1B Charles Wolfe and CF Kyle Wood, lead their team next year in defense of their first CAP 7 conference title since 1992.

Millbrook -- how many are juniors? I believe LH P Jake Harris may be the only junior. Travis Smith (Chowan) is one tough competitor. We will miss you and will folow your career at at Chowan.

Leesville -- I believe all their CAP 7 players are seniors - correct? Any playing at college next year?

Broughton -- Redd and Aull have meant a lot to this team. Juniors P/OF Daniel Brown and SS/CF Jake Kline will make noise next year.

Wakefield -- both playes are college bound with Brian Yeung (Wingate) and Jeremy Dowdy (App St). Best of luck to each and we have enjoyed watching you play the game the way it should be played.

Wake Forest -- congratulations to Tyler Buckley (Soph) as Rookie of the Year. Good luck to P Mac Williamson at WF. Is Gleason a senior?

Enloe -- I also believe Mauer is a junior. Pretty decent pitcher as he has to be pitching at Enloe's home field with the balls flying out left and right.

Again, well deserved honors to all the CAP 7 players listed. Best of luck to all that are moving onto the next level and I look forward to seeing all the returning palyers next spring.

    Taylor Gleason . . .

. . . is a junior, tho he is older than some of the '08s so you might remember him from AAU playing with many of the current seniors.
