Cameron Maybin-TC Roberson

This young man from Arden, NC put on a display at the most prestigious invitational showcase in America. This event is for the highest ranked '05 players across the country and the Latin countries.

Justin Upton, #1 ranked, set the 60 record with a 6.29, but Cameron came in 3rd with a 6.34. Cameron also displayed the best hitting power at the event.

Note: for those college scouts attending...put away your notebooks because Cameron will not put a foot on any campus next fall ('05). He will be a 1st rd draft pick...possibly a Top 10

The first time I saw him was in an AAU tournament a few years ago. My son hit a ball into the gap in right center, a sure double. Cameron ran it down and caught it on the fly with no trouble at all. He kept doing stuff like that the whole weekend. We were in awe, he kinda took over. I'm not a bit surprised to find out that he is highly sought after now.

Cameron is a great talent, but more importantly, he's a good student and great kid from a good family. Considering the recent fiasco with Matt Bush and the tremendous disappointment in the development of #1 pick Josh Hamilton, a player's character can and should have a big impact on where he's drafted.

 

It was a joy to watch him play when Crest took on TC Roberson. I don't see how you can ever pitch to him.
