No, no, no, no...it was Braves Jr in Puerto Rico; enjoying the beach and the babes. Me?..I was at home for the past week....Moving. That's right..he was playing on the beach with his buddies. While I was moving our household (20+ years of my wife's collections) by a covered wagon and two ornery mules. I am tired, worn out and have a bad back from lugging those two old mules around.

    Part 1

Okay...here is one fishing story that happened a couple of weeks ago. True story:

I was wanting to go fishing at Santee-Cooper. I decided to hire a guide, so I was looking for the best. I ran across one that said "Fishin' by dummies". I figured this was in SC and they just mixed up the "fishing for dummies". I found out later....they were right.

I got to the camp early and asked for Haskell, my guide. I was told that Haskell was a little sick and sent his brother, Homer. I knew then I was in trouble. Homer took me to the dock and showed me his "pontoon". He explained that he would guide me to the special fishing spots that only he and Haskell knew about. It turned out to be in the same cove we were already in. Here's a picture of Homer and his "boat".

It turned out that Homer's trolling motor hasn't worked in "awhile", so he actually pushed me across the cove. It was kinda cool to see him use his diver fins to pedal me around the area.

Well, after an hour or so of not catching anything but the smell of Homer's previous night's drinking, he told me, " I'm going to take you to a place that only me and Haskell fish. Nobodies known's 'bout this place, but us....and now you". Homer kicked it into high gear and we entered a body of water never discovered on Santee-Cooper.

I caught a fish that looked like something back in the dinosaur era. It was freaky. In fact, if you rubbed it's head, it would howl. Here it is:

After catching a couple of other "dogfish", I called Michael Vick up and asked him if he had any interest in my "dogs". He said he was kinda busy, so I continued to fish. I told Homer about the "noodlin'" we do with my family, so he said he had a great idea. He took me to the other side of the cove and he started groping around the shore. I saw him tangle with something...didn't know what it was, but it was big! I decided to jump in and help. I latched on the back of the monster while Homer snatched his upper lip. After corraling it, we tied it to the boat and drug it back to shore.. It was a barracuda....but Homer called it something else. Here's a picture:

    Final

After catching a few more, I decided to call it a day. It was a great fishing trip and one I won't forget for awhile. If you ever decide to make this trip just ask for Homer. He is a faster guide than Haskell. I learned later that Haskell only has one leg.

So for those out there that commented on the veracity of my fishing stories....pictures don't lie. :48:

With that bicep Homer's flexin', he could be a number four batter in anyones' lineup. You think he might still be in HS?
