    Border Showcase Classic IV to be held @ Byrnes High School on August 15, 2008


    COLUMBUS, N.C.-- The Border Showcase Classic IV moves to South Carolina. The BSC IV will be played at James F. Byrnes High School’s Nixon Field in Duncan, S.C. Polk County High School of Columbus, NC will host the event. “Byrnes was involved in our inaugural event in 2005 and we are awfully excited to have them back,” says Bruce Ollis, Head Football Coach at Polk County High School. Participating teams have won a combined 43 state championships with Gaffney heading that list at 15.

    The event will begin at 7:00 with Polk County facing Spartanburg (a new addition to The BSC) followed by Crest v. Gaffney and the final game of the evening Shelby taking on Byrnes. Each game will consist of one half of football in a true game setting. Ollis got the Border Showcase off the ground 4 years ago and the jamboree continues to grow in recognition. “We decided to move to the game to a South Carolina venue for 2008 and Head Football Coach Chris Miller of Byrnes was gracious enough to offer us the opportunity to use their facility which I think will be a treat for all high school football fans in the area. Our goal is to offer the high school football fan the chance to see great high school football along with match ups that don’t normally occur during the regular season. The Border Showcase Classic will give the fan that opportunity,” says Ollis.
