    It can be very frustrating

thats for sure. There are school booster clubs and then their are school athletic booster clubs. When I was in hs we had both. The school booster club raised money for school projects such as flower beds around the school , stuff like that. The athletic booster club was there to support the athletic programs to supplement what they did not get from the county. Our football coach never had to work on his field. The athletic booster club parents painted the field , mowed the grass etc etc. If he needed something they went out and got it for him. It was a team effort for all the sports. The problem is in some schools there is alot of parental support for some sports and no parental support in others. You have some Head Coaches that get out there and get the parents involved to help raise money etc and then there are coaches that do nothing but put out a hand and ask the booster club for the money. Alot of issues all the way around.

I never wanted to depend on someone else to give me what I needed. What if they didnt? What if they didnt feel that we needed extra bp balls or a new L - screen etc etc? To me it was about not having to depend on someone else to get us what we felt we needed for our kids. The parents are more than willing to help in anyway they can if you ask them. They also want their kids to have the best they can get. Whats wrong with that? Everyone knows up front that was is done outside the lines has nothing to do with the decisions made inside the lines. The bottom line is if you want to get things done then get things done. If your waiting on someone else to get it done for you then you have no right to gripe when it doesnt happen. Or how it happens.

Why do you say that? It all depends on the person doing the job. I konw of excellent coaches who are also AD's and they have good all around athletic programs. Its all about the people in place around you.
