"Blue" missed one...

    This weekend in the 16u bracket a young lady from the Firestixx uniform( Diamond Stars name on brackets) hit a home run OVER the fence into our warm up drills. I watched it go over as I was standing waiting on the next player to rotate into drills. Blue in the field ruled a ground ruled double and sent her back. The sad thing is, this was her 1st ever HR and she was confused on the bases as what to do. We all were shouting "it went over", but blue did not budge. I would like to say congrats to that young lady for a well hit ball......clearly over by at least 3-4 feet.

    Unfortunatley, the dad was asked to leave the fields.

    This was the Firestix team, not the Diamond Starz. The Firestix team played 16U this weekend, but will be playing up next weekend in 18U at the Mighty Casey. The 14U Diamond Starz team is coached by the same coach though.

    and I guess

    the outfielders didn't see the video clip or read about the good sportsmanship in Central Oregon that was widely posted, or at least it didnt rub off. what a shame. Well, that girl will always know she did it, and its not like records are kept in regards to it. If I was dad, you can bet not only would I be asked to leave, I may be carried out, lol.
