BIG LEAGUE World Series winner SC

    In SC the Big League teams play in January. As you might imagine the games are pretty loose. It has been suggested that they're just getting enough games in to qualify for the big league tournament team.

    After the HS season is over the BL tournament team is selected. Since the regular season is in January and the BL series is not until late July, most of the kids play travel ball after the HS season is over. Some do play Legion. I heard that some dropped off of their Legion team when the Big League tournament started.

    As you might expect, there has been some controversy about the way things are done here. But Little League allows it.

    Thanks for the insight. Die-hards will always find ways to work around the system, no matter what. Some places really seem to concentrate on certain youth associations to get a leg up on the competition.

    But a regular season of baseball crammed into the "cold" month of January? Even in SC it gets a might chilly!
