    Ben (Lanky) Beard made his pitching debut for Pfeiffer saturday in the first game of a doubleheader against Bloomfield U of New Jersey. Ben pitched 7 innings and gave up 5 earned runs on 6 hits. :banana:

    It's great to see Ben firing the ball for Pfeiffer and it's wonderful to see a freshman getting a chance on the mound in such a solid program.

    Here is to many, many more outings !!!!!!!!

    Hey OldGuyCoach (I know, I know ... that description matches way too many people ... I personally answer to OldBlindDeafGuy when I actually hear people)

    Have you been out to catch any pre-season workouts? Anyone you like this year? Surprises?

    My Observances

    I only really get to see Hopewell and North Meck practice. North Varsity should have one of the best shots at a State Title in a long time. They are deep in talent, strong in pitching and very fast overall in team speed. Hopefully Kellett can rebound from an injury and get back to 100%; that allows Coach King so many additional senarios to use both defensively and offensively. Hopewell Varsity has lost many senior players and one of the returning starters has opted for track to increase his scholorship possibilities and he will be hard to replace. I expect the team to do moderately well and with some maturation of younger players, will make the playoffs. :applause: I wish both coaching staffs and all the fine young men the best of luck and a fastball belt high right down the middle :) :laugh1:
