    Be aggressive

Teaching and allowing players to push the envelope is the difference in just average and good. Most of the time the players pushing are the talented and aggressive players. Most of that pushing from a player is confidence and that should not be slowed. Being just early off a bag or just out of the 24" for a pitcher is maybe that player using the talent they have to get the advantage and to see how confident the umpire may be in what he saw. Be aggressive make them call you if you are wrong. Cheating is to strong here there is a big defference in pushing with talent and "cheating" with say equipment. IMO

I am just playing devils advocate here so don't get offended too much but I must have fallen asleep when they changed the definition of cheating. I just looked and the definition is 'To violate rules deliberately, as in a game'. I couldn't find an ammedment that said it is not cheating if your girls are pushing the envelope, good enough to not get caught, or if the umpire doesn't call it.

All I am saying is that you can bet your bum that if there was an umpire that called every illegal pitch and every time a girl jumped early, there were be all sorts of threads on this board complaining about that ump ruining the game or causing someone to lose. They have enough to worry about during the game and shouldn't have to be trying to catch coaches and players trying to push the envelope. If your team is good enough, you shouldn't have to do things like this to get an edge. Play the game straight up and may the best team win.

    It is not cheating......

They are not being told to cheat... they are being told to push the limits of the game....... it's the umps responsibility to determine if they are within the rules of the game.

Why have umpires if players are not gonna "push the envelope"
Catchers could call balls and strikes. The zone would be same for every pitcher and batter.

We would not need coaches, strategy would not exist.

Read the pitching rules... 99% of all of our dd pitchers are illegal based on the current rules.....
wrist outside the elbow at release is an illegal pitch....

Swapping a little paint on the race track is also against the rules, but they
    say it's "just racing"

    Next Level is.....

.....one a forum that is geared towards kids in college playing ball. JMO, with the vast number of NC/SC players moving on into college to to get an education and play ball, and the highly motivated parents who follow Preps, I'll bet the NEXT LEVEL forum gets a workout for the next few years!

Sports will always have rules that.....

...that "might" be manipulated. Take the leaving the base early gig. Its not cheating if a player gets a 1/2 second jump. I encourage that. If a sprinter leaves early out of the blocks, they get a second chance.....as a Dad who's DD is not a pitcher, I make a motion that the umps have to call time, and holler DO OVER!, when my kids leave the base early. Can I get a second??? Fish
