Putting on 10-20 lbs of muscle in the off season is hugely difficult without some type of aide. (now if your talking 10-20 pounds only - well that's easy - LOL), but, seriously, muscle takes time and dedication to build, not just a couple of months.

There are several players I've watched that seem to have done remarkable things in the size growth/development category in a short period of time - makes one wonder.....

Juicing is cheating, plain and simple - take away the "juice" and have the players (whatever sport) compete on a true "apple to apple" basis and you see who the real athlete is.

And anyone who thinks that these "enhancers" are not dangerous is fooling themselves. Maybe not now, or in a couple of years, but, one day, down the road, the side effects will be raise their ugly heads. And, in any case, you can't screw with God or Mother Nature and get away with it.

Pro athletes need to be held accountable, as Braves said, it all trickles down to the HS level (and maybe lower - who knows - you know, "gotta be ready for HS, wanna be the best in HS, gotta start now..."). Referring to pro athletes as "role models" anymore is a joke. :banginghe

Who knows maybe 1 day you'll be able to go to the doctor and say - "hey doc, I want a major leaguer - a leftie, 6'5", 220 lbs, who can throw 95 (with movement!) and who can knock it out of the park." and the doc will say, "sure, I've got just the thing. We have these embryos from a proven gene pool to get you just what you want." anybody remember the song - In the Year 2525?????:imagestor

That's why I said looking back. I was just as naive as you. I kinda liked it that way :)

The crazy part is that probably 10% of the guys did it just to get big. They didn't even play a sport.

I think right now he is located in Caldwell County. What a staff of pitchers there.

I'm moving to Caldwell County and live with Kevin Bumgarner. I'm sure he knows that Dr.

Wait a minute...Madison is a 6"5" 220 lb lefty that throws 95...yep, Kevin knows that Dr.

    OMG

I honestly didn't think of anyone/anyplace in particular w/my post - I was just referring to the "lefty" scenario cuz theyre supposed to be most desired. It just hit me about SC - honestly - NO OFFENSE INTENDED to any players there!!! :thud:

It was a purely theoretical "prescription"..... my apologies if it was taken in the wrong way!!!

No..I can't believe that anyone would take it any other way then the way you intended. I got your point and it was well taken.

I know of Creatine use in High School Athletics 8-9 years ago... Kids are always looking for shortcuts, for that matter we all look for shortcuts, though.

Yeah..there were "men" that tried to get my son to use creatine. They told him his only side effect was constant urinating. I'm glad he never tried it.

It's funny..my son has gained a lot of weight in muscle this year due to taking the summer off and working out with Alan Tyson, but in HS, he would never be the poster child of performance enhancement drugs. He looked like a zipper
