Another Showcase

Big Showcase in Savannah Ga this weekend as well. 38 teams, 10 in Gold and and 28 in A division. Have not checked field lately but there were teams from NC, SC, GA, Fla, and Tenn I believe. Curve and Blues will represent NC. Weather is supposed to be beautiful and we are looking forward to playing some of the Gold teams from the SE.
The format is informal and calling for free subs and situation ball in late innings to test your team.
Have confirmation from several coaches that they will be there and due to Plantation weather issues hope many more will attend.
Good luck to all teams attending Burlington tournament as well, looks like a good field and you know it will be managed well.

For the second year, the Lady Lightning Gold will be participating in the Ronald McDonald Benefit Tournament this weekend in Houston, TX.

Last year we experienced a great tournament with an amazing amount of exposure for our girls. Hopefully you will experience the same thing this year. Good Luck Ladies.

 

The Triangle Lightning and the NC Flames will also be there.

Way to start the weekend

The Lady Lightning opened their tournament play in Houston, TX tonight with an 8 to 2 win over the GT Shockers of Beaumont Texas.

They continue play at 940, 240 and 6pm tommorrow. Keep up the good work ladies.

Many thanks to the NC and SC teams that made their way down to Savannah for the Southern Star Team Showcase. I am so glad it turned out great. I think the weather was as good as it could have gotten. Sorry about the sand gnats on Saturday night. They like to great the tourists in their own special way.

Nothing but compliments from the umpires and coaches in attendance for the talent level at this event. I think all the teams from the Carolinas represented themselves well. EVERY umpire and coach that was there could not have enough good things to say. I wish I had a recorder. Lots of good looks for 2010 and 2011 players that were there. Wish you could have seen the TV coverage on Sunday night, it was real complimentary to everyone there.

I heard several teams were able to take in the haunted tours on Friday night and several others went to Paula Deen's "Lady and Sons". Several great stories on Sunday. Glad it worked out.

Glad you had a good time in Savannah and we hope to see you back again at one of our future events. It was a pleasure hosting you. Make sure you tell all your friends.
