    Kannapolis Post 501 - 1 Stanly County - 0

Garrett Sherrill (App.State) and Tyler Almond (Wingate signee) in a tight pitcher's duel. Both pitchers battled out of several jams. A great performance by both of these young men.

Blake Ketner drove in Jake Faggart who barely made it in with a head-first slide for the game's only run in the 3rd.

Post 501 retakes the Area III Southern Division lead with a great win over a very stout Stanly County group.

NEXT UP: @ Wilkes County on Tuesday.

    Kannapolis/Stanly Co. game

Great crowd, great weather, great night for baseball. Congrats to Kannapolis for retaking 1st place in Southern Division (now 13-3 in league). Stanly is 11-3 but Ktown has tiebreaker via season sweep. Garrett Sherrill (3-1) pitched great tonight, but congrats to Stanly's Tyler Almond as well, neither pitcher deserved to lose tonight.

Great to see KtownYankee at the ballgames once again (we need his wisdom- ha), great to see Boxman, and great to see NPCfanatic posting again too.

Now Ktown needs to take care of business during this final week of the regular season and don't look past anyone. Great job guys...:bananalam

P.S. for the Kannapolis fans on the Alaskan cruise,,, you missed a great weekend with 3 big wins. Btw, your son played great,,,,,,, STAY AWAY!!!:woohoo:

Yes...Jake Faggart made it barely at the plate. With no one out you do not send a kid home unless you are sure he can make it easily. For some reason our 3rd base coach can't figure this out.I've seen way too many kids thrown out at the plate with no outs over the last two years in high school and legion ball at Kannapolis.

Great pitchers duel tonight.Sherrill and Almond were both great. You don't see many 1 hour 54 minutes 9 inning legion games.

Kannapolis will be without Seager this next week due to orientation at UNC.
