    Well, I know what would happen if he was coaching in Guilford County. Anyone with any info on the incident?

    Albemarle coach accused of assaulting cheerleader, Police investigating claim Gaster assaulted cheerleader after game

    Jack Gaster, who coached Albemarle High to the past three N.C. 1AA football championships, has been suspended after being charged with assault against a 16-year-old female cheerleader from North Moore High.

    According to an Albemarle Police Department report, the victim said the attack happened after a basketball game Feb. 3 at Albemarle.

    The victim said Gaster grabbed her arm, pulled her toward him and kissed her neck.

    No injuries were reported. The charge is a misdemeanor.

    Stanly County Schools interim superintendent Kenneth Edwards said Gaster is suspended with pay "pending our ongoing internal investigation."

    "I really can't go into any specifics concerning this matter," he said.

    Gaster, 55, also is Albemarle's athletics director. His football teams have won 37 straight games, and he's 122-21 since beginning at Albemarle in 1992.

    Gaster has won 230 games in 25 years at West Columbus, Smithfield-Selma, Lexington and Albemarle.

    Gaster and Albemarle High Principal Dave Bright couldn't be reached for comment.

    He musta got a little too comfortable being around those sweet young things all the time. He has messed up now.

    He is a god... He did nothing wrong... he has witnesses that said he simply hugged the girl after the game.

    I've known Jack for over 10 yrs now, and there's NO WAY IN HELL he'd jeopardize his career for some cheap thrill with some cheerleader! I think it's bogus, and full of crap. Papa Jack will be exonerated when all's said and done!:xyzthumbs
