    Good stuff in here. Obviously, its an individual decision, but the bottom line for me at that age is to make sure they are having fun. The skill level will always be there, but the development can come later. If you have a good rec program, nothing wrong with playing there. Coach27 is right; your kid will let you know if he is wanting to move into travel ball.

    Good coaching is found at all levels. I have seen some of the best coaches at the Rec level (some of the worst, too). I'm just not a fan of daddy ball.

    There are so many avenues open for advanced training that were not available a few years ago. You have fortunately found one. As long as your son has a smile on his face when he is ready to take the field...he is in the right place.
