    A crazy game to say the least down in Rutherfordton. Davon Gardner had most likely the greatest performace ever for a McDowell runningback...

    41 carries, 285 yards, 4 TD's.

    That's not all...

    Davon also completed a 22 yard pass for a touchdown. Including his kick return duties, Davon had 386 All Purpose yards on the evening.

    The game which was tied at 7 at halftime, went all McDowell's way in the 2nd half.

    AC has a pretty good team, I could go on about how bad we are but I'll choose to give the Cougars credit for playing a darn good football game. They have lost to us plenty so it must feel really good for those kids and the coaching staff to beat the mud outta us at our place. I'd like to give a shout out to AC film guy Scottie Miller and good luck to the Cougars the rest of the way!

    I believe that was the score at the half. Watauga doesn't get the chance to run the score up all that often, so kudos to them for not doing so against a truly awful Wilkes Central team. Pioneers are 2-2 and much improved over last year. 4 or 5 wins is not out of the question.
