How is your team doing this summer? Any surprises? Bring us up to date on your team?

Its been an interesting experience and I've had a blast doing it. We sort of fell behind from day 1. When building our roster, we had 14 pitchers and 16 position guys. Two of the pitchers that we signed decided not to show up. One week into the season we had lost one more pitcher to injury and one got a little homesick so he left. During the following week, we lost two more guys to injury. None of the injuries were serious, but we decided to shut them down. We didn't want to send damaged goods back to schools in August. That left us with only eight arms which is tough to compete with when you are playing six games a week. Luckily for us, we have two different two-way guys who have been able to eat up some innings for us. With all of that being said, our win-loss record isn't what we would like it to be at this point in the season. However, its been fun watching the guys improve.

The league is great for guys who are looking to get better. We had a lot of guys really struggle with the wood early on, but have since learned how to hit with it and really seen some positive results. The guys who came here wanting to get better have.

I don't really like to single out players, but if you have any questions on any guys in particular, I will be glad to answer those. We have a few guys who I think have a shot to go a long way in professional baseball if they continue to improve the way I think they will.

All in all, its been a great learning experience for myself and our players. I have had the opportunity to work with some great college players, fun individuals to be around, and made more friends in the college coaching circles. I know once we play our last game, I will be excited about putting together next years roster.
