2 former Cary Bulls meet in High-A

    Matt Mangini and Mickey Hall played against one another last weekend in Lancaster, CA.

    Mickey played center for the Lancaster JetHawks and Matt played third for the High Desert Mavericks.

    Pretty cool that two former Cary Bulls met so far away in Single A baseball. I know both of the guys personally and wish them tons of luck. Both are great guys who live for baseball.

    16th,
    Mickey went 2-3 with a HR and 2 RBI's while Matt struggled and went 0-4 with 2 K's and 2 E's.

    17th,
    Both fella's went 0for... Mickey went 0-2 with a BB and Matt again 0-4.

    18th,
    Mangini went 1-3 with 2 BB's and 1run. Mick went 0-4 with a BB.

    19th,
    Mangini got the day off. Mick went 2-4 with a RBI.

    old news but......

    why did MM leave State for Ok St?
    I know it seemed he had some defensive troubles later on at State.

    i never got the chance to ask mangini personally, but i believe he and one of ok. state's assistant coaches are very close from when that coach was at nc state. add that with his defensive struggles + being out of the line-up + a chance to play baseball in the Big 12... then it was almost a no-brainer for him.

    Matt mashed one in Roxboro against Person during his Senior year at Apex... That ball left the park, went over the trees in RF and landed on Food Lion. I believe it bounced in the parking lot.... What a poke!!
