I'm getting ready to hold some tryouts for a team for the Spring/Summer 2010 season. Give me some idea of some of the averages to expect from average and talented players. We are thinking of holding a pro style workout and then some live scrimmaging the next round.

    60 yard dash ?
pitching velocity (fastball, curve, slider, change up)?
    catcher pop?
    power hitter distance?
anything else you think would help to look at?

    Thanks

Pro-style workout is the way to go. We run all our tryouts in this manner, and it gives you a very good unbiased view of the players "raw" ability. If you'd like you can email me at [email protected] and I can send over our grading scale that we use as a "base" model.
