Beavers?...hmm...no idea. But they have been there two years in a row.

Fox's style? It's hard to argue with his success (although I know a few that could). I'm sure he believes it gets all of his players ready for the tournament....but I don't like it. I don't believe you let a hot hitter sit...period! If a player is in a groove, pitching or hitting, leave him alone. But, I don't envy Fox's position either. To decide who to play, with all of the talent they have, is a tough decision.

There are two schools of thought: 1) Play your best players at all times 2) display loyalty to your upperclassmen who have been through your program for many years.

I know in this day in age, a coach will play his best players regardless of class because next year he might be fired!

 

EoR- start a thread on the NC State boys. I'd like to hear your thoughts on them for next year

 

UNC brought in 16 freshmen to give them a 40 man fall roster.
When this is pared down to the spring roster, the quality of the second stringers is going to be incredible. Looks like alot of redshirting will be in the works.
Coach Fox is doing the right thing to spreading the PT around, not just for the present teams, but for the future. You don't see many disgruntled UNC players transferring to other schools, nor do you see a steady stream of incoming JUCO players to replace them. Loyalty and stability are good things.
The only positions locked up for sure may be Horton and Flack on the left side of the infield. Cavasini is another possible because of his speed and value as a leadoff hitter.
After that, the possible combinations of really good players is mind-boggling especially with the balance of left-handed and right-handed hitters.
