    Eastern Randolph 28 Ragsdale 21

well I'll say this - if you ever go see these two teams you'll never leave disappointed unless it's your team that loses.

Another game that Ragsdale "should" have won. Of course I always think they should win. The game was as close and exciting as the score indicates. Ragsdale scored first with about 7 minutes in the first on a beautiful 68 yard Baker TD run. Ragsdale D stood up and forced a fumble and was moving the ball but on 2nd and short on the ER 20 the fullback( why the fullback? the same fullback that fumbled on the ER 20 last year in the playoffs) took the ball up the middle - everybody standing around waiting for the whistle to blow - when the ER safety looks down and sees the ball laying at his feet - pick it up and 80 yards later the score is tied.

Ragsadale moved downfield and scored on a short Baker run to go up 14-7 in the first. In the sedond Ragsdale looked to get a huge inteception by Thomas Johnson in ER territory - but the refs called Ragsdale for the worst, most phantom interference call ever in the history of the game - I think the ref actually called Ragsdale for hitting the receiver 5 yards after the interception was returned. But anyway - no harm as Ragsdale stopped them on that drive.

ER would later score to tie it up - held Ragsdale and got the ball back and on a beautiful 2:00 offense scored to go up 21-14 at the half - that score was the back breaker of the game to me.

Ragsdale D started the 3rd quarter fired up - made some huge stops and tied it up at 21 on a Baker 19 yard TD run. Baker was his usual awesome self tonight. Had about 240 yards on 26, 27 carries. Mulllins the QB was okay tonight - had a few passes just out of reach but had about 100 yards passing but two interceptions.

Eastern scored in the fourth went up 28-21. Ragsdale couldn't move the ball and Eastern got it back and just about ran out the clock. For some reason on a 4th and 1 at the 5 ER decided to go for it insread of kicking a clinching FG with a minute left. Ragsdale D rose to the occasion stopped them and had a minute to go 95 yards. MUllins got two completions out to around the 20 but then trhew a INT over the middle and that was the ballgame.

Third place for the Tigers - which means road trips through the playoffs ( hope we can play AT South Point )

Great game by ER as usual. Riddle is a good QB and Lassitewr gets the tough yards when needed. Refs could have been better tonight. Too many penalties both ways.

On a side note - on that last drive by ER - Lassiter took a huge hit aroiund the ten - had the ball popped loose back about ten yards - ER recoverd but the player that made the hit? Toney Baker - he got in a few plays on D. Lassiter got hurt on the play - and I hope he's okay.

Vey hard hitting game tonight. Ragsdale D makes huge plays but then just can't make the stop on 3rd down when they need to.

Great to meet Boxcat tonight. Who knows - might see you guys in the playoffs again

Hard to believe that this year could be better than last year but it very well may be the case. Everybody better get there early. I remember last year going to Fat Friday and getting there at 6:30, I ended up walking from KFC to Patriot Stadium.

8-2, not bad for a team that was 1-10 last year.

    Go Indians, err...I mean Hawks
