Coming Attractions

The summer season is winding down and this period of time historically is the slow part of the season. Here are some of the topics that will be posted in the near future:

1. Interviews with players...( Jonathan Ratledge, Adam Warren, Drew Martin..etc.)

2. Interview with Robert Woodard on his experience at the Cape Cod league

3. A Q&A with TBR's Jere Morton about his Juco experience, his future and his opinion on college players playing Legion ball

4. Interview with a prominent HS coach...this will be a great one. He is very direct.

5. Preview of the Perfect Game's World Wood Championship @ Jupiter

6. Q&A with a MLB scout and his opinion on many subjects including Pro offer vs college commitment

7. Interview with Andy Partin, Impact Baseball

8. Return of Applejack---MLB pitcher with Pirates and Dodgers

9. Interview with Winthrop's soph. star, Chris Carrera

10. Interview with possible 1st pick in the draft, Cameron Maybin

These are some of the topics that I will post in the near future. Like everyone else, I have been busy during this time of year and needed to take a break from the board, but I am looking forward to a very interesting fall and it's getting time to shine the light on some new and very talented '05 and '06 players

I hope when you finish and post those interviews, you might consider doing some with players outside the Charlotte area and Impact teams.
The Carolina Cubs have some very deserving ,talented players that I hope you will consider in your next round of interviews. There are several that have already verbally committed to UNC, ECU and UNCW. Matt Cox, Josh Dowdy, Grayson Evans, Tim Federowicz, Garrett Gore, Stephen Halford, Kyle Musselman, and I am sure more that soon will. This should keep you busy for a while! :xyzthumbs

BB9er-- I'd love to interview those guys. I have a story for you. Last year when I thought about doing some interviews, I had two things to consider. One, I had to do the ones that I knew because I needed to have a way to contact them. I always ask for the parents permission to interview. Two, I didn't think that anyone from the Eastern part of the state even heard of TBR much less read it. I was fortunate to reach Travis High last year and he was the furthest from Charlotte that I could contact....but this is the story. I had my son ask Adam if he would do an interview for TBR ( My son was thinking..Adam never heard of TBR). When he asked Adam, he said, " You're kidding. I'd love to do one. I have it under my favorites and try to read it everyday"....so I was amazed. WOW!!! the little message board I started for the Charlotte guys two years ago has become statewide....and it keeps evolving.

For me to interview those you mentioned, I would need a contact email address or be introduced. The only other way is for one of our members that know the individuals to do an interview...which they probably could do a lot better job than I do.

I'd love for others to do them in their area because we could get a lot more posted than having one person do them...I'm so slow

Those are some great names...I'm already singing the praises of Matt Cox to everybody in Charlotte that has not seen him play. And of course, Josh, Grayson, Tim, Garrett, Stephen and Kyle are recognized by everyone.

 

I'll check it out and give you some feedback soon and will spread the word!

Who are the Carolina Cubs? New team?

I've played against Grayson for a long time all through little league and high school. And I played fall ball with Garrett for a year or two. And I know Josh from legion ball, but who are the Cubs?

It gives a roster and coaches are listed in an earlier post above the roster.
Some of the players were from the NC Red Sox team from last year of Lew Weatherspoon.
New coaches, new players added on, and now are a Chicago Cubs scout team.
They are a team like the Diamondbacks that Coach Fulghum used to have or like I mentioned, Coach Weatherspoon had last year.

They are in an upcoming showcase (10/2-3) at ODU, followed by UNCW Impact Invite, then NC Fall Showcase in Raleigh, ending with WWBC in Jupiter(well wherever they relocate it to because of fields and motels damaged in area)
