Just wondering if there are any other NC teams forming for this tournament besides the Copperheads and S. Charlotte ? East Cobb-August 4-8.

They were really good last year when I saw them play. Looks like they have designs on being a national power this year, pulling players from 14 high schools. The WWBA should be a good test for them.

I am in contact with an out-of-state team looking for players. Send me a private message with details if you know a strong 15u player. Can be 06 or 07. This is a wood bat tournament with teams from 11 states including Texas and California.

2 NC teams in championship bracket

The Carolina Copperheads went 3-0 in pool play with wins over the EC Stars,ABD Bulldogs & EC Seminoles for a #5 seeding. The South Charlotte Panthers went 2-1 with wins over the STM Strikers and Georgia Knights after losing a tough 3-1 game against Miami in the opening game. SC is seeded #6.
Both teams are playing great baseball ! For more info, go to www.worldwoodbat.com

The Copperheads finished at 4-1. Winning in the Championship bracket against the EC Tigers and then losing in the quarter finals to NorCal 15U. The Panthers ended up 3-2, beating the ABD Bulldogs in the Championship bracket and losing in the quarter finals to, I belive, a Miami team.

I must say that there were a lot of people from the select travel teams that were asking where those two teams were from. The ABD Bulldogs had won several tournaments in a row before losing to the Copperheads and then the Panthers. The NorCal team hadn't been home in 5-6 weeks as they were flying all over the country playing and had just finished playing in the AAU Nationals losing in the semi-finals to the team that won the championship in a hard fought game.

I believe North Carolina was again well represented.
