I know some of you have a hard time seeing out of the Queen City, but up here in the mountains Tues. night will be West Henderson @ North Henderson. You can bet that on the mound will be "NOT ONE, BUT TWO", UNC signees going head to head. Mike Facchinei for WH and Seth Williams for NH. WH is 7-0 in the WHC and NH is 5-1. The radar guns in NC will not hit higher anywhere else on Tues nite than Henderson County, considering the 2 pitchers involved. Both have gone 90+.

    Hey...at least I mentioned Taylorsville...that's in the mountains :D

Seriously, I love when anybody mentions a game of the week. I wish we had 4 or 5 posted each week with a capsule of what makes it a GOTW. That's what this board is for..."promoting"

You're right Mudcat..that will be a great game. I still haven't seen Mike pitch yet...but I hope to.

PS---any luck on doing an interview with Mike

while we're on the topic on games of the week, that charlotte christian @ ashbrook game monday night (4/5) at 7:00 should be interesting. whenever a private school meets up with a powerhouse public school it's always intriguing.

I agree with you Mudcat.....Charlotte isn't the only place in NC where there will be GOTW caliber games.

On Tuesday night Mooresville will travel to West Rowan. Although the Blue Devils' record doesn't suggest this will be a great game to watch, they always come to play the Falcons. It's a big rivalry that goes back many years.

Speaking of rivalries, on Thursday West will travel to Staten Field to take on the Mustangs of East Rowan. Now this has true GOTW potential. Not only is it one of the biggest rivalries in the area, but at this writing both teams are undefeated in the NPC. If East gets by Kannapolis on Tuesday night and West gets by Mooresville you guys in Charlotte can look a little to the north and you'll see some real fireworks come Thursday night.

Welcome back to Ashbrook! This should be a good game since both teams will have all the players they were missing during the early scrimmage. I believe Clay Gibson will probably get the start for Ashbrook because he only threw two innings last Thursday against Forestview. Since this is a non-conference game, it would not surprise me if Ashbrook also throws their #4 & #5 for a couple of innings each. Ashbrook has conference games on Tuesday and Thursday, so I doubt McCall or Bogaert will see any pitching.

Look for SPD when you get to the ballpark. I'll be the one wearing the Ashbrook hat! :)

    AC vs. Watauga

AC vs. Watauga should be the best game in the NW4A this year. Especially since South Caldwell seems to be sliding. This one should be a barn burner to say the least. I have also heard some things that indicate that the fans may bring a little atmosphere (if that is what you want to call it) to the field as well. The only damper that could be put on this game is the weather. It is mighty nippy where I live and that tells me it is most likely going to be FREEZING in the mountains. This might have a small affect on the pitching but regardless, this should still be a great ballgame.

Lincolnton (5-1 conf.) plays at East Rutherford (6-0) tonight for the Midwest 2A Conference lead at midseason.
