Alexander Central #13 vs Providence #6 will play saturday at 1 at AC. Any expert predictions on the matchup. Should be a close one with some star pitching from both sides.

Depends on who has already pitched this week for both teams. Wrong guy on the mound and the other team will run away with the game. Could go either way very easily. Don't be surprised with anything .... a blow out either way or a 1-0 game in 10 innings.

I think AC's last game was Wednesday so all there pitchers should be pretty well rested. I'm looking forward to the game. I might have to try to get over and watch it if it doesnt rain tomorrow.

Some coaches also use these early games to still juggle lineups to get ready for the all important conference games. Teams look entirely different 3 weeks from now.

Mudcat, I completely agree with you EXCEPT ....

This game may be the exception. Both squads are predominately seniors who have been through the wars and know their positions. If there is some juggling, it will probably be on the part of the Providence coach since he is new to the program.

I don't think Providence has played yet this week. With the snow cancelling scrimmages last week, they may trot out a new pitcher every other inning just to get some work in.

If the rain holds off it should be a good match-up.I think both coaches will probably pitch 2-3 guys since it is early in the year and they need to get ready for the up-coming conf. games. Should be a good early season test for both teams. I know coach Hignight will have his guys ready to play against his old high school and from what I've heard Providence is loaded with depth. AC has a good squad too, so should be interesting. :laugh1:
