I knda have to agree with you, although I do see rc's point, and here's why. When we had our AAU teams together with this current group (jrs. & sophs.) of players we had nowhere in Mooresville to even practice on a grass infield, much less play games on one. All the kids from tee ball on up NEVER see a grass infield until they go somewhere else to play in a tournament. Usually it takes time to adjust (no matter how many times you tell them) to the slower speeds of grounders and soft rollers. That adjustment time usually leads to losses (not that winning and losing is the most important thing, did I say that?). In time however they adjust as they get older and more experienced to ALL playing surfaces. I do think that the current head coach would love to have one and btw I think he is doing a real good job. We host Legion games in the summer and I know Whitey would like to see that before he retires. Progress has been comming slowly but surely to the facilities in Mooresville and new AD Barclay Marsh appears to have the ability to carry the torch passed to him by former AD Mike Carter. We are an independent school system and money must be appropriated equally to ALL sports. I also know the president of the athletic boosters is a baseball guy and he is doing all he can do too.
