UNCC Showcase Results

    I just wanted to know people's impressions of last weekend UNCC Showcase. I was only there for a short period of time and liked what I saw. Others impressions please!

    highntight: I have this report from one parent that attended the UNCC Showcase event with his son but I did not attend:

    About 90 players attended. Colleges that attended that were instructors:
    Old Dominion
    Virginia Commonwealth
    Gardner-Webb
    Presbyterian
    VMI
    U. of Richmond
    and another couple others I am forgetting off the top of my head. Don't know if there were others there or not.

    The format was one of the best I have seen all year. There was an opportunity to look at the kids in small groups of their peers at their primary position. The pitchers were probably the ones that got the least attention as they did not throw any bullpen and only one inning of 6 hitters on the mound. They did work with the pitchers extensively in drills, etc., however.

    Southloop: Thanks for the input! Several people I talked with were impressed with this showcase's format and the promise of feedback from the coaches evaluations. The players did seem to get quite a bit of instruction and commented on how well the program was organized. It will be interesting to get the coaches impressions on the players so they will have something to work from.
