NC: I agree Cale Allison looked good from the mound and with the bat. Dusty White hit the only HR I saw, a 370 ft. shot over the right center wall. I saw the guns on Zack Rosenbaun and they were 87, 88, 89 MPH while I was watching. Greg Allen was in the high 70's with great control striking out 5 of the nine batters he faced allowing no hits. Ryan Laboy show good fundamentals and a strong arm from the outfield. Trey Starnes had several good hits up the middle during the games. I spent most of my time watching the Grey and Gold teams so I only caught limited players from the others teams.

What a chilly day for baseball. I thought the showcsae was well run and enjoyed seeing all of the players. Three from Asheville High School made the trip down and despite the weather did pretty good. Scott Russell hit and fielded well. Robert Kisiah hit and pitched pretty good despite having pitched at NC state earlier in the day. I saw one radar gun at 84 and he did a good job hitting his spots. Breaking ball was working nicely. He told me he was pretty tired after playing in Raleigh on Saturday and Sunday morning. Carl Smith Hunnicutt hit very well and had some good picks at first base.

A couple of other underclassmen that I thought helped themselves. This isn't an inclusive list, it's what caught my eye. (I'm also trying not to repeat someone else's observations).

Zack Rosenbaum showed a good fastball. His breaking ball showed good movement also.

Brendan Van Popering. He was showing a good breaking ball.

Tony Case showed the signs of a nice swing

    Matt Layman pitched well.

Trey Starnes showed a good quick stroke at the plate.

Jacob Wallace showed stongly when I saw him

Brandon Formyduval was a good looking catcher

David Powell showed a good arm

    Jake Johnson pitched very well.

Matt Cox showed a very strong arm from the outfield.

Garrett Gore has a cannon in the OF as an arm. Soft hands in the IF.

Clayton Pittman pitched well and has a good OF arm.

Kendric Burney has a good OF arm and reads the ball well off the bat. Good speed also.

Jeremy Synan showed solid in the IF.

Justin Jackson had a nice stroke at the dish.

Matt Holt good good on the mound.

Taylor Smith is a very good looking catcher.

Brady Thomas also looked very solid behind the plate.

Was there anyone there from the piedmont (Metro or CPC)?

Does anyone know? Maybe NC-Dad he seems to know alot of info about baseball in the these conferences.

    Thanks for the help.

CPCbaseball: You'll have to be more specific like asking about a particular player's name as they are not listed by conferences.
