How long will it take for West Caldwell Coaches realizes this offense does not work??

I heard all of his assistants quit on him because he's a poor leader and he questioned their loyalty over trivial stuff. Have you heard anything like that?

 

Yes I heard he had issues with his assistants but never heard the details...We have some good talent at WC but it needs to be seasoned...A good weight program and a good teacher in the fundamentals of blocking and tackling...O nce again this is my opinion but good guy or what, Styron needs to go!

 

Do you think he'll be fired or resign at the conclusion of this season? If he does go, who would you like to see (besides Biggerstaff) take his place? Who do you think will apply? Who are the top five candidates for the job? Will anyone in the school apply for the job? This could be interesting.

Ya know, I think everyone knew that the warriors would be down this season. However, I think they could be successful provided that they had some good coaching and a hard nosed disciplinarian. They're getting neither. I thought that possibly west could bring in an older, more seasoned assistant coach who's been a head coach for a long time to help Styron out with matters of discipline. That's probably not feesable, but it would help Styron out immensely. I really think that he became a head coasch too fast. Most head coaches in Florida have to put their time in and do not become head coaches until they are well into their forties. Didn't this guy just turn 30? I dunno, I just like high school football and hate seeing this team struggle when they have so much talent. What do you think about the defense and special teams?

 

Well first of all I dont think thay will fire him... When east burke Hired mike Biggerstaff I actually told the WC princaple that He was crazy and had to be out of his mind to let Biggs get away from West Caldwell especially since He showed interest in coming back to WC...He still lives in Gamewell and I know Mike well and although he has gotten somewhat attached to his kids at EB his blood is still warrior blue...I think that the school and especially the princaple at WC are;nt really concerned with FB and the revenue it produces but it's really more than that...Football with a good seasoned coach who's a stern discilinarian molds young boys into young men and really has some impact on that kids future...Styron will probally have to resign or the community run him out...I'm gonna tell you something that'll probally make you laugh but it's the truth... I know this for fact from a source inside East Burke football...After the WC-EB Game game one of the EB assistant coaches stepped into the WC locker room after the Players were dressed and out and Low and behold they was a man with a broom sweeping... The EB assistant coach told the man how much he appreciated him cleaning up after the team because most teams just leave the locker room in a mess...Well that man responded by saying "At least I know I can handle a broom because I sure can't coach!" ....Needless to say , That man, The sweeper, was Craig Styron...LOL...And that was the truth, that really happened...Craig Styron is a nice person and a good person but that doesn't make him a good football coach...He probally would be a good asst. in another coach's system but just not Head Coach material, PERIOD!...If he knows his own inabilities to lead this program then he needs to do the right thing and step down because I'm sure this school will keep him on as a teacher... As far as hiring a new coach? I'm sure Biggs would return if asked but outside of Biggs I think the Warriors should look at Roger Seacreast Of North Rowan...Seacrest is a real good coach and a Calwell County native...I also think the Warrors should look at assistants from top programs around here Like AC Reynolds, Kannapolis, Maiden, Bandys, South Point, and the rest of the areas consistantly strong programs and look closely at the strong defensive schools and the Def. Co-ordinater there!.. Lenoir has always had football talent and had good programs here when the proper leadership is here...Even before West Caldwell was a school, old Lenoir High had some great teams....

I've heard that the D-coordinator at west is a buffoone. I really don't think he's that great either. The 5-2 monster that west runs is a defense based on sheer numbers. Think about it, nobody in the conference throws the ball. So, if nobody throws the ball you put the majority of people on the defense near the line of scrimmage and play the numbers game. It's a matter of them not having enough people to block ours. Back in Florida you have to be sound at covering the pass as well as the run. Obviously, the same is not so here. So, I don't think that the D-coordinator at west is a viable candidate either. What about any other coaches in the area or on staff. Would Paul Hoggard ever come back?

Warrior Coaches and Offense

So tell me Dawg and Hulkster, how didthe Warriors do againt a team of no talent, non athletes like North Wilkes last night.

Last night the warriors lost to a team that had less talent than they did, but simply were out played and out coached. Props to the NW players and staff. No excuses from my end.

On a side note I say the following:
1. The defense that thought it was so big and bad got rolled.
2. The offense played better but is still weak.
3. The team is the most undisciplined team I've seen in years.
4. Nobody plays hard.
5. Defense can't tackle or cover.
6. Offense can't block, catch, or run.

What a joke this program has become. I do blame the coaching for some of these problems. However, the players have absolutely no passion for the game at all. I think you can blame the parents too for raising such lame kids who are selfish and have no heart. God, please drop a nuke on gamewell so we can start over. How awful! The warriors won't win again this year.

 

Oh yeah, nice job defense. You had 83 guys, the band, the jv squad, parents, yoda, and jesus himself inside to stop the run and you couldn't. 56, 57, 70 all weigh over 250 lbs and couldn't fight their way out of an outhouse. What a bunch of pigs!
