I've been a lurker on the board for a while now, but I've never posted before. Now though, I have a problem and I need some help.

I am the producer for Channel 9's High School Football Extra show. This year we are going to do a prime time preview show. I'm putting together the rundown now, and I'm looking for good human intrests stories.

If anyone knows of a player that has had to overcome long odds to play, or an assistant coach that has been around forever, or a super fan that shows up game in game out year in year out, please post here. I'm not looking for stuff like "Crest is going to roll over everyone this year" or "Concord sucks, E.Z. should retire". What I am looking for is a chance to tell everyone a story about someone or something special about your school that might not otherwise be told.

Thanks in advance for the input.

    Great Story idea

There is a Kannapolis Fan that has not missed more than 4 o 6 games in forty years. Send me a private message and I can tell you more.

It's a shame that you didn't ask this last year. Coach Bryson at Crest would have been an excellent subject. He retired this year after being everything at Crest it seems at least once. How about a story on long time radio crew Andy Foster and Dan Greer here in Cleveland County? I believe they have been inducted to the FCA hall of fame for Cleveland County and have just about seen it all when it comes to high school football. They truely love the game.

By the way, Crest is going to roll over everyone this year.:D :D

Any idea just how long they've been together? Also what station do they call games for?

I think they have been together for over 20 some odd years. They do the Cleveland County game of the week for 730 WOHS in Shelby. I can get a better idea of the years as soon as I make a phone call.

They were calling games(Greer,Foster)back in 1981 when I was at Crest so I personally know of 22 years. For Cleveland County football fans the voice of HS Football is Andy Foster and Dan Greer!Nice idea smashmouth....

I was told that Andy and Dan have been together since around 1980. They also said that Andy himself has been doing high school sports for over 30 years.

You could go to every school in the area and find a pretty interesting story at each of them.
