Legion Way Out East

    I'm going to be in the Morehead City area over the last few days of June and into July for a few days. Other than watching cable or driving two hours to Kinston for single A ball does any one know about BB way out east?? Does anyone know anything about Legion Ball in this area? I heard from a Wilmington player that there is a very good legion team in Morehead City. Looking at the calendar, I think the Legion local playoffs should be under way??

    Morehead City... Hmmmm, I dont know much about that far out east. I know Wilmington baseball pretty well, but outside of that... I am not real sure about any other "far east" ball. Sorry.

    New Bern (about 45 minutes from Morehead) has a home game July 8, if you're in town that long. Our games the last week of June are all out of town. Let me know if this works for you and I'll make sure you get directions to the field.

    Morehead City plays at W.Carteret HS. Don't have their schedule, but the Jacksonville post (as the well as the Wilm teams) plays in the same league. For info on the schedules you may contact W.Carteret or for the Jax post the local paper (the Daily News). Just a thought.b

    The Morehead City Legion team is Post 46.
    If you are in area last of June ...first of July home games are:

    6/27/03 Post 46 vs Post 10(LaneyHS mostly... out of Wilmington)

    6/30/03 Post 46 vs Leland (should be a good one)

    7/01/03 Post 46 vs Duplin Co

    7/02/03 Post 46 vs Post 129(Hoggard mostly...out of Wilmington)

    Games are played at West Carteret HS

    Hey Knuclehead,
    Did you get down to the beautiful "Crystal Coast" over the 4th of July....If you did, hope you enjoyed the fireworks down on the waterfront of Morehead City!!! Did you catch any of the Post 46 Legion games while at Morehead ? Post 46 is starting playoffs tonight at West Carteret HS....they ended up #1 seed and Laney #2 so will play Southwest Brunswick here 2 games and then travel there. If you saw Post 46 play any, I'd be interested in a commentary!

    Morehead Post 46 got swept by Pleasure Island Post 129(Hoggard) in the 2nd round of playoffs! Post 46 beat out SouthBrunswick to advance and Post 129 beat out Post10(Laney) to advance to second round. It was the first time Post 46 had made it passed the first round. Next year should be another good year for Post46.
